Big Egg Films & Sussex Learning Network

One of our most recent projects and on going projects here at Big Egg has been working with Sussex Learning Network to develop a series of videos that focus on key themes such as global warming and ways of dealing with worry and stress; featuring students from the University of Brighton, the University of Sussex and the University of Chichester.

The project, entitled ‘The Role Models Project’ aims to help those who may be thinking of heading to university and give them the information and tips from those who have already begun their university journey in order to help them with any stresses or worries they may have. The role models create interactive workbooks and films based on what they wish they’d known when they were younger for learners in secondary schools and colleges to use.

In order to create these videos, we made sure to follow the remote filming guidelines we outlined in this blog. This included conducting our interviews remotely; we provided the students with microphones and videos on how to shoot on their devices and guidance on framing and let them create.

Debra Vice-Holt had the following to say about the work we’ve created for Sussex Learning Network:

We have worked with Big Egg for a number of years, developing film with parents and carers, young people and staff. Big Egg are adept at understanding the brief and the tone required. We have increased our work with Big Egg during lock down and developed a number of films for school and college learners using university students to provide visual support during school and college closures. Adam and the team are patient and supportive during the video edits, understanding the need for us to get the tone and voice absolutely spot on.

We've loved working on these so far, and hopefully we can share more with you all soon.
