We are now over half way through the Brighton Housing Trust annual Christmas appeal with £12,601 raised so far, which is 63% of the total. The donations will be used by BHT to combat homelessness, create opportunities, and promote change. BHT runs a wide range of specialist services to meet the needs of homeless and vulnerable men and women. One of the services the donation money will go to is First Base
First Base offers a range of services to support people who are sleeping rough or who are insecurely housed in Brighton and Hove. They provide food, hot drinks, showers, clean and dry clothes, and support to get off the streets.
First Base also provides opportunities for work experience and learning. In partnership with other agencies, a range of services are provided for their clients including dentistry, podiatry, nursing interventions, mental health advice and support, and accommodation and relocation services.
The appeal got off to a great start with support from local newspapers, local TV, local MPs and other charities in the city.
The video has reached close to half a million people, but the appeal still needs your support. With Christmas just around the corner, it’s not too late to donate. You can donate here
